Investigation, which is a visual inspection of the interior and
exterior of the residence (or commercial structure) and its supporting
soils. The engineer looks for any indications of movement in the
walls, ceilings and floors of the building, checks drainage on the lot,
especially in the proximity of the foundation and addresses slopes on
the site, if any. If the structure is experiencing problems, Bill
Catlin's resulting written report will explain to you what most likely
caused these problems and how best to accomplish correcting them.
